Truthfully, with so much confusion about how and where to start, the thought of renovating was daunting. My husband John and I, were also both deeply concerned about the renovation nightmare stories that we had heard about so often.

We had spent the better part of eight months considering the alternative of finding and buying a home that would have all the features that we wanted. We spent weekends going through open houses and researching the market with our realtor.
