"Finally, a no hassle approach to renovation that will save you money, put you in control of your project, save time eliminate the stress of renovation!"

"It's hard for me to know where to begin. I'm just so excited to be finally living in the home of my dreams.

This is something that my husband and I have been thinking about in our minds for years. "

Wendy Miller

Truthfully, with so much confusion about how and where to start, the thought of renovating was daunting. My husband John and I, were also both deeply concerned about the renovation nightmare stories that we had heard about so often.

The move option was
just not affordable.

We had spent the better part of eight months considering the alternative of finding and buying a home that would have all the features that we wanted. We spent weekends going through open houses and researching the market with our realtor.

I vividly remember the feeling of being confused and powerless. Though we have always been careful financially, I realized that time was flying by. We wanted to do either move or renovate while the kids were still young enough for us to enjoy our dream home as a family.

The pre-planning process we followed eliminated surprises during construction.

The five years since we had moved into our existing house had flown by so fast.

Eventually, we came to the conclusion that cost to find our "dream" home in the neighbourhood that we loved living in was just too much for us to afford.

Starting to plan for our renovation.

Not really sure about how to get started, we met three renovation contractors and two architects. Each of them had come very highly recommended to us by a family member, friend or friend of a friend.

These meetings quickly made us realize a few things. We didn't have the knowledge to understand what it was we were asking for in the first place. We discovered that each renovator and architect had a different way of working and a different way of charging for their services.

We love entertaining family and friends in our new kitchen.

The TV reno shows never talk about info like this,
But they should!

While we did get some good ideas about possible changes to the house, there were just so many options. While one of the architects felt that we shouldn't put any money into the house, one contractor felt that we should tear the house down completely and start from scratch.

We were so unsure of what to do and no closer to an answer than before!

All I can say is this. As I read about this approach to renovating, I was so relieved!

It was exactly what John and I had been looking for. For the first time in so long, I had feelings of hope and excitement about the possibility of actually getting the home that we'd been dreaming about .

Sometimes it's not who you know, but what you know that counts!

We managed to carve out the space for a really cool main floor Powder Room.

Our project started on April 18 and was completed on schedule and on budget twenty two weeks later.
